The Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) along with Department of Mental Health and NAMI Massachusetts will be offering a two day Train the Trainer course for Licensed Mental Health Clinicians who are interested in becoming a certified instructor for the MPTC curriculum “Police Response to Persons with Mental Health and Emotional Disturbances”. This exciting opportunity will allow licensed mental health clinicians to co-teach this curriculum to student officers alongside certified police officers at both the full time Police Academies and the part time reserve Police Academies.

The Train the Trainer will take place at the MPTC Headquarters located at 6 Adams Street in Randolph, MA  02368 on April 2-3, 2014 from 9AM-5PM.  Once you have completed this two day program, you will be certified to teach this curriculum at the MPTC academies. The Train the Trainer is offered free of charge.

For those who would like to teach this topic to the part time officers in the Reserve Program in the evenings and weekends, for an hourly rate, there will be a short one day program in addition to this training  that will be offered in the near future.  This one day trainer program will also be free of charge.

Please fill out the application below and forward it to Dori Ference, MPTC Curricula Standards and Training Coordinator, at the following fax: 413-755-6331.  The enrollment for the class closes Tuesday, March 25th.  You may also contact Dori Ference at Doriann.Ference@state.ma.us if you have any questions.
