It’s Giving Tuesday. Will you consider giving a gift to NAMI Massachusetts?
Our Compass Helpline has received over 4,000 inquiries this year alone. Together, let’s create a world where support knows no bounds. We have Compass Helpline staff by the phones ready to support individuals with resources and support. Will you support their efforts?
DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT: (All Giving Tuesday gifts will be matched up to $25k by the William B. & Anngenette G. Tyler Fidelity Gift Fund).
One big gift means there are more resources for our mission, and multiple people giving smaller gifts means that there are more eyes and hearts on the efforts we do to support individuals, families and caregivers in Massachusetts… We need both, and you always deliver.
Your support makes all of the difference. Thank you.

For many young adults living with a mental health condition (such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, or schizophrenia), it can be difficult to keep up with your job. Do you find it challenging to:
- Stay organized
- Remember things
- Manage your time
- Follow directions
- Get to work on time?
The main purpose of the Tools for Work Success Study is to determine which of two approaches is most effective in helping young adults, ages 18 to 30 years old with mental health conditions, develop skills around focus, memory, planning/time management, and problem solving for work.
This self-paced training course provides foundational information about trauma-informed outreach and engagement strategies, approaches, and service delivery models. This will focus on ways to support individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness who have serious mental illness (SMI), serious emotional disturbance (SED), substance use disorders (SUDs), and/or co-occurring disorders (CODs). This course is approved for 3.0 CEUs from the National Association of Social Workers.
Course Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the need for trauma-informed care across outreach and engagement efforts and services.
- Identify the different purposes and types of outreach that are provided in response to homelessness.
- Describe key skills for engaging with people experiencing homelessness in a trauma-informed manner.
- Explain how outreach and engagement efforts help address mental health and substance use needs for those experiencing homelessness.
