Health Insurance

MassHealth
MassHealth is the state Massachusetts Medicaid program. It provides coverage to people and families with limited income, as well as people with disabilities regardless of income.
Medicare
Medicare is a health insurance program for people 65 or older, people under 65 who have received Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) for at least two years, and people with certain other medical conditions.

SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone) is a free health insurance assistance program that provides information and support to Massachusetts residents who have Medicare.

Massachusetts Family Voices is a state-wide program that offers free, confidential assistance with health care, public benefits, and other health care financing options, as well as referrals to programs designed to help children special health needs remain in the community.

My Ombudsman is an independent program that helps people with MassHealth plans understand their benefits and resolve issues.
Office of Patient Protection
The Office of Patient Protection safeguards the rights of health insurance consumers by regulating the internal appeal process and administering external reviews for people with fully-insured Massachusetts health insurance and issues open enrollment waivers.
