Volunteers are essential to the work that we do at NAMI Massachusetts, and we are always seeking enthusiastic people to help us achieve our mission.

Lead a support group or education program

  • Volunteer as a NAMI Peer-to-Peer Teacher
    NAMI Peer-to-Peer classes are taught by two NAMI-trained teachers who are living with a mental health condition. A one-year commitment is requested for all new teachers.
  • Volunteer as a NAMI Family-to-Family Teacher
    The NAMI Family-to-Family course is taught by two NAMI-trained teachers who have first-hand experience as a parent or family caregiver of a person who has been diagnosed with a mental health condition.
  • Volunteer as a NAMI Basics Teacher
    The NAMI Basics course is taught by two NAMI-trained teachers who have first-hand experience as a parent or family caregiver of a child who has been diagnosed with a mental health condition.

  • Volunteer as an In Our Own Voice Presenter
    In Our Own Voice (IOOV) is presented by trained speakers who share their experiences living with a mental health condition. Learn more about becoming an IOOV presenter.
  • Volunteer as an Ending the Silence Presenter
    Ending the Silence (ETS) is presented by two trained speakers who share information and personal stories related to mental health conditions. Learn more about becoming an ETS speaker.
